Deleting something from a PDF splits into two very different operations, and the distinction is the whole subject. Hiding an object covers it while leaving it in the file. Which one you need
If the object is merely untidy — a stray logo, a redundant image — hiding is harmless and either approach works. If the object is sensitive, hiding it is a disclosure waiting to happen. Text under a white or black rectangle is still text, and it comes out with a select-all and a copy.

Removing objects properly

Verify afterwards. Open the exported file, select all, copy, and paste into a plain text editor. If the deleted text appears, it was hidden and not removed.
What "object" means here
A PDF page is a sequence of drawing operations, and every one is an object you may be able to target: text runs, images, vector paths, form fields, annotations. Different tools expose different subsets. Annotations and form fields are typically easiest to delete because they are separate structures; text and vector graphics live in the page content stream and need an editor that can rewrite it.
