Certificate PDF Maker

Create a Certificate PDF Online

To create a certificate PDF, open the free PDF Creator, load the certificate template, and personalize the recipient name, achievement text, date, and signature lines on a design canvas. Everything runs in your browser — no signup and no software to install — and the exported PDF carries no watermark.

Certificates live or die on presentation. Build an ornamental frame by layering two or three rounded rectangles with contrasting stroke widths, set the recipient name in a large Georgia or Palatino line, and drop in your school crest or company logo as a PNG with transparency. Smart alignment guides keep the seal, title, and signature lines perfectly centered.

Because the export is a server-rendered vector PDF, text stays razor sharp whether you print at A5 for a stack of participation awards or A3 for a framed honor — no pixelated edges, ever.

Built for this document

Certificate template built in

Start from a ready-made certificate layout with title, recipient line, body text, and signature area already positioned — just replace the words.

Ornamental borders from shapes

Layer rounded rectangles with different stroke widths and dashed borders to build classic double-rule frames — no clip art needed.

Formal typography

Georgia, Palatino, and Times New Roman with letter-spacing control give the recipient line and title the engraved look certificates demand.

Logos, crests, and seals

Upload your school crest or organization logo as JPG or PNG, round its corners, and lower opacity for a subtle background emblem.

Real signature fields

Add true AcroForm signature fields above each signature line so the principal or manager can sign digitally in any PDF reader.

Print-sharp vector export

The finished certificate exports as vector PDF — text and border rules print crisply at any size, from A5 handouts to framed A3.

Step by step

1

Open the certificate template

Go to the PDF Creator and load the certificate template so the title, recipient line, and signature area are already laid out.

2

Pick a page size

Choose A4 for standard framing, or the Presentation 16:9 size for a wide, landscape-style certificate.

3

Write the award text

Replace the placeholder title, recipient name, achievement description, and date. Make the recipient name the largest line on the page.

4

Build the border and add your logo

Frame the page with layered rectangles, then upload your crest or logo and center it with the smart alignment guides.

5

Add signature lines

Draw thin line shapes for each signer, label them with name and role, and optionally place a signature field above each line.

6

Export the PDF

Click Export to download a watermark-free vector PDF, ready to print or email to the recipient.

Get it right the first time

Establish a name-line hierarchy

The recipient name should be the largest text on the page — roughly twice the body size — followed by the certificate title, then the achievement description. Readers should find the name in under a second.

Include date, signatures, and a credential ID

A certificate is a record, not just decoration. Add the award date, at least one signature line with the signer’s printed name and role, and a short certificate number so it can be referenced later.

Keep the frame away from the trim edge

Leave at least 10 mm between your ornamental border and the page edge. Home and office printers cannot print to the edge, and a clipped frame ruins the formal look.

Limit yourself to two typefaces

One serif for the title and name (Georgia or Palatino), one supporting face for body text. More than two fonts makes an award look like a flyer.

Frequently asked questions

Can I print the certificate in high quality?

Yes. The export is a true vector PDF, so text and border lines are resolution-independent and print sharp at any size. For framed certificates, print on 160–200 gsm card stock for a professional feel.

How do I make a landscape certificate?

Choose the Presentation 16:9 page size when you start — it gives you a wide canvas that suits the classic horizontal certificate layout. A4 works well for portrait-style diplomas.

Can I add my school or company logo to the certificate?

Yes — upload a JPG or PNG and position it anywhere on the canvas. A PNG with a transparent background works best over colored borders, and you can lower its opacity to use it as a watermark-style emblem behind the text.

Does the exported certificate have a watermark?

No. Exports are completely watermark-free with no hidden branding, on every certificate you make, with no usage limit.

How do I issue the same certificate to many recipients?

Duplicate the finished page once per recipient and change only the name and date on each copy, then export a single multi-page PDF. Alternatively, leave the name as a fillable text field so each certificate can be completed in any PDF reader.

Can the certificate be signed digitally?

You can place real signature form fields above each signature line, and signers can fill them in Adobe Reader or a browser after export. For a full signing workflow on an existing PDF, use the Sign PDF tool at /sign-pdf.

Can I edit the certificate after downloading it?

Yes — upload the exported file at /edit-pdf to change names, dates, or wording later without rebuilding the design from scratch.
